One big change about going to Lancaster Uni is having to cook for myself. I realize that sounds quite silly, but I lived in student housing at Puget Sound and we didn’t have proper kitchens. I ate in the dining hall. I had a night to cook when I was younger, but I pretty much stopped doing that when I got to high school and was busy doing theater stuff until late. Because of this, I don’t really know how to cook much. I’ve only really cooked meat on our outdoor grill and I haven’t made complicated dishes. I’ve been cooking easy stuff that I know how to do like stuffed potatoes or roast veg with Greek yogurt. Yum. Like sewing and knitting, I’m happiest just going at it without a recipe. Unfortunately I don’t have the basic knowledge and skills to cook very much like that.
