Any Questions?

It’s been a long time since I last did a Q&A blog post (seven years!), and my blog post request form has long since been removed, so I thought I’d do another Ask-Me-Anything style post. Leave a comment with any questions you might have, and I’ll write some blog posts answering them. I’ll do a a roundup post or two with some quick answers to all of the questions, and I’ll do some more detailed posts if there are questions that could use a longer or more technical answer. Is there anything you’d like to know about me, sweater knitting, or anything else?

What is a good beginner 1st sweater yarn? I’m reluctant to spend top dollar on something I might never wear.

    Thanks!

  2. How often do you knit/ crochet each week on average and how is that made up? Half an hour here and there or longer stints? Does it vary?

  3. What is your favourite place to knit? Do you prefer to knit during wintertime or all year round?
Thanks for creating all these beautiful patterns and for your very precious tips. Reading your blog is always a pleasure for me.

Hi. I’ve got a personal question for you, hope it’s ok.
Do you have Connections to Sweden? Just thinking about your last name, your sisters name and her dogs name, the julgran sweater etc.

Thanks for this blog, I always enjoy reading your posts, Andi!

I’m curious to know a bit about your everyday life, for example how you divide your time between knitting, designing and office work. You have written about this before but how is it now? And I’m also curious about your move to a new appartment, and to know a bit more about the knitting community in the Seattle area. I hope these questions are not too personal!

I could not resist a yarn cake, aran in ?4 subtle shades of green, 200 grams, 80% acrylic, 20% wool, and wonder what one can KNIT with it. I have lots of compatible stash, 2 blue and 1 purple cake yarns. There is a wide choice of crochet patterns. Is there a knitting pattern or basic instructions on KNITTING a scarf or simple cowl which would be visible rather than hidden as the colours are so beautiful and ombre-like , please?
I have tried various websites but cannot find a ready made receipt for a rectangle although when the green one is underway I can consider a bolero.
    Thank you for any help.
