Casting On Henriette for #SSK2016

Today is the first day of the Selfish Sweater KAL, which means it’s time to cast on your cardigans! I’m knitting Henriette, which is worked from the bottom up. It starts with a band of 1×1 ribbing, so I can use one of my favorite stretchy cast-on methods, the alternate cable CO.

I picked out this pale pink Neighborhood Fiber Co. Studio Chunky to use. The color is called Victorian Village, and it’s not one that I’d normally go for, but every time I looked at NFC’s color palette, my eyes were pulled straight to it. I finally couldn’t resist it any longer and chose it for this project. There’s something that just feels right about knitting a pink project for a KAL that ends on Valentine’s Day.

Absolutely beautiful color! I can’t cast on my armande yet because I don’t have the right length circular.

  4. I totally get why you had to buy that color. It isn’t what I normally go for either but it just looks lovely! 🙂 Great choice!

Can you tell me where I can find the pattern for this cardi please? Would love to knit it for my granddaughters.

    1. It’s linked to in the post. Just click where it says “Henriette.”
