Today is the first day of the Selfish Sweater KAL, so I cast on my Chuck this morning. Chuck starts off a little differently than my other sweater patterns because the back of the neck scoops down a touch. The back is worked a bit like the front. I cast on the top of the right side of the back first, and I’m going to knit a few rows and then put these stitches on hold. Next I cast on the top of the left side of the back, and I join the two pieces when I cast on the rest of the back stitches that go in the middle. The small pieces of knitting look a odd when you’re just starting the back, but they help create a really flattering neckline on the finished sweater.

I swatched and cast my Aitken on yesterday. Only a few rows knitted so far but having worked all over Christmas I have finished work until 2015 which gives me a few days to crack on.
