On Saturday my friend and I drove over to Bellevue to go to Vogue Knitting Live Seattle (which was not actually in Seattle). It was the show’s second year here, but it was my first time going, and it was a ton of fun. There was a runway in the market area, and I loved knitting while watching knits go down the runway. The Skacel and Rowan shows were particularly good. There were also a lot of art pieces surrounding the edge of the market. And of course there was a ton of shopping! I didn’t intend on buying anything, but my willpower failed me and I took home a new Japanese stitch dictionary and enough yarn for a sweater. Oops!

  • Love the plaid cape.

I just finished a sweater with Neighborhood Fiber yarn, it is a dream to knit with.

Can’t wait to see what you make with it.

  • I just bought some Neighborhood Fiber Co yarn recently and I love it!! I also hear great things about Sincere Sheep but haven’t had a chance to test that for myself yet. Can’t wait to see what you make!

  • That looks like it was a blast! And I love the pale blue yarn you got – perfect for pastel spring sweaters! I can’t wait to see what you make.

  • Japanese knitting books are the best! Particularly the stitch dictionaries, they’re just so packed with designs and charts and not all the fluff that can sometimes accompany fat English books. Not that there aren’t great English stitch dictionaries out there, but I’ve been far more consistently impressed with the Japanese ones.

  • oh wow, this looks like it was AMAZING!! I definitely wnat to go to a Vogue Knitting Live one of these days. Just looks like such a blast.

  • I LOVE the color of that blue yarn-I can’t wait to see what that becomes 🙂

I absolutely have to get my hands on one of those octopus-kitties. They’re beyond adorable.

  • You will not be disappointed with your yarn purchase. I discovered Neighborhood Fiber yarn (at VK Live in New York!) and I love it. Amazing stuff.
