I didn’t go to Rhinebeck, but my friend Monica did, and I asked her to pick me up a skein of Miss Babs Yowza. I told her to surprise me with the color, and she clearly knows my taste! The color is called French Marigold. That same weekend was the Hazel Knits trunk show at the Fiber Gallery in Seattle, and I found myself lured in by this skein of Entice in Zest. The Yowza has very generous yardage and will probably become a short sleeved cropped cardi for spring. The Entice is destined to be a shawlette. I just need to choose between my two ideas for it!

  • This is so funny! Alas I too didn’t go to Rhinebeck, but I went last year. And the only yarn I bought (outside of a lovely skein of alpaca from rescued alpacas!)… French Marigold in Yowza for a sweater. 🙂 Can’t wait to see what you make with yours.

  • You girls are totally spoilt for choice of yarns in your part of the world 🙂 I love browsing all the knitting websites and download most patterns suitable for my two new nine months old grandson and grand daughter, of course not forgetting my eldest nine year old grandson. However, by the time I make the swatch matching the yarn available here and converting the knitting needle sizes, so that the tension is accurate, I get discouraged. But I dont give up. Today, after a lot of trials, I have started knitting a matinee coat in off white yarn for my grand daughter, soon to be followed with a sunshine yellow yarn coat and romper for my grandson. Thank you for posting the patterns, they are all beautiful.
