The big question. What to knit? My design projects are out of my hands, and most of my secret knitting is done. I’ve been trying to figure out what to start on. It’s been a long time since I haven’t had a real plan on what to make. Last night, I knit a bunch of swatches, trying to figure out if I wanted to make anything with yarn from my stash. Some of them got filed away to be used in pattern submission, but this one, Skacel’s Alpaca Seta, was just some stash yarn I won at Knit Fit that I don’t know what I want to do with.

It’s the softest thing ever, but it’s very drapey, and has poor stitch definition. I think it would make a wonderful deep winter weekend sweater, but I find myself wondering if that’s what I really want to knit right now. It has been getting warmer in Seattle, and I think the sweater would be too hot to wear for about 11 more months. And then there’s the question of if I really want to hand knit my casual, around-the-house wear. I don’t know! It’s insanely soft yarn so I’d love to have something made out of it, but for now I think it will be going back in my stash, and I will be going to the yarn store tomorrow.
