That’s all?!?!

Following Kelly and Audry‘s suggestion, I picked up my Audrey in Unst to work on in my dedicated knitting time. I’m still working on my pink sweater while working on school stuff, but this is my “knitting time” project.

I started the sleeve. This is all that I’ve knit in the last 10 days on this project. I haven’t even gotten through all of the short rows for the sleeve cap. I’ve been busy working on school work and being social, but clearly I need some more dedicated knitting time in my life. I plan on sitting down tonight and just working on this for an hour. Homework can wait a little longer.

  1. I think it’s important to have dedicated knitting time. It’s easier to stay on task when you’ve have “me” time.

  3. Oh it took me an AGE to slog my way through Audrey in Unst. Especially those short row sleeve caps which I couldn’t stand. But it is such a useful cardigan I’m glad I didn’t frog. It’ll be worth it in the end!

  5. Forget homework! It won’t keep you nearly as warm when the weather gets chilly. Plus you’ll get fewer odd looks than if you draped yourself in paper.

  7. Sleeves are the WORST part of knitting a sweater in my opinion! But it is looking lovely and will be worth it in the end! What yarn are you using, by the way? I like the color.

  9. You are further on your audrey than I am…I’ve been working on the lace (tiny bit) on my Shalder! I’ve just got about 20 lace rows to go! and it’s easy lace! but I have to keep ripping it out!

  10. Hey, it’s more than nothing. If part of a sleeve cap is what you can squeeze in, but you’re still enjoying life then that’s fine. I wouldn’t worry about.

I have to say though, I LOVE that yarn. It looks properly wooly. What is it?

I actually get really frazzled when I don’t get straight knitting time in.

The yarn is Valley Yarns Northfield. It’s a merino, alpaca, and silk blend. It’s an interesting yarn. I wouldn’t describe it as woolly, but it does knit up springy.

I also feel like I should add that the loose fibers on the sweater are actually corgi fur. I don’t think I own anything that’s free of dog hair.

  12. You can do it! I love mine, wear it all the time. I’m thinking I’ll actually knit another!

You’re crazy. I think I will get a ton of wear out of this when I finished it but never again! It’s not the most fun.
