When it comes to my progress on my OAL projects, I feel like I’ve got a lot done but still have so much more to do!
I originally intended to get my Lander shorts completed in June, before I moved to a new apartment in the same neighborhood this month, but unfortunately I had to pack them up before I did my waistband, belt loops, and hem. It’s not a lot of sewing, but there’s so much to unpack in my new apartment that I’m not sure if I’ll be able to get my sewing machine out any time soon. I haven’t even figured out where I’ll sew because my kitchen table isn’t near any outlets, so I’ll need either an extension cord or to find somewhere to set up my folding sewing table, but I’m determined to get them done, even if it ends up being at the last minute at the end of the month.
My Waters top is coming along steadily thanks to dedicated knitting time on the bus and when I spend time with friends. I just finished the waist shaping and am on my first set of increases for the hips, so I should bind off my body within the next week or two. I’m really looking forward to completing the body because then I can toss the top in the wash worry-free. I took it to my friend’s Canada Day party and did a lot of fireside knitting, and the smoky smell combined with knitting is pretty bad, but I didn’t trust linen to behave well if I put it on a lifeline to immediately wash it. I’m going to be so happy when I can wash this smelly thing before adding the neck and armhole edgings.
