Audrey in Unst Update

Today I was feeling too lazy to write a real blog post, but then I remembered that I made this video last week!

Vlog 2 from Andi Satterlund on Vimeo.

Short version: I knit a sleeve, but I’m not sure about it because I’m on an indecisive kick. Should I attempt to make full length sleeves or should I rip back and make slightly shorter 3/4 length sleeves?

  1. 3/4 3/4!!!!

  2. I like the 3/4 length sleeve and it doesn’t bug me visually when looking at the sweater length in comparison. BTW, love the dress. Erin

  3. Dress is gorgeous! Did you make it?

And 3/4 sleeves. They look great!

    1. Thank you, but I don’t sew that well! It’s from TrashyDiva.com.

  4. I also loooove your dress! Great colors on you!

About the sweater – I really like that length of sleeve, but I agree that it’s a little strange with the hem of the body. The sleeve could look really cute ending just above the elbow, actually! Although, if you’re going for warmth, maybe not the best length.

Oh man – that was non-conclusive, right?

  5. I like the 3/4 sleeve. I actually like it where it hits right now, but blocking is a tricky beast. If it’s going to drive you nuts, by all means, rip and redo.

I also agree with all of the above commenters who have mentioned how fab your dress is!

  6. Cute video. I agree with Katie above and kept thinking how cute the sweater would be with elbow-length sleeves. The 3/4 sleeve looks pretty cute, too. I’m having a hard time picturing it with long sleeves. No matter what you do, it you think it might change a lot in blocking, the swatching is probably in order. It is such a bummer to end up with a sweater that you love except for the sleeve length! Don’t do that to yourself!

  7. I’d say 3/4. I think the overall look of that sweater lends itself to 3/4 sleeves. Plus, it’ll be much nicer in summer!

I don’t see a problem with the sleeves being the same length as the body. That said, I hate 3/4 length sleeves on myself. You should ask you aunt Ruth, who loves 3/4 length. 😀

  9. I’d keep the sleeves as they are. I think there is enough difference between the length of the sleeves and the full length of the cardi, and this will be more apparent when you wear it – the sleeves will creep up a little as you wear them, and if the swatch grew, the body will stretch more than the sleeves will. Hope this makes sense!

  10. 3/4 length!!! I think the sleeve length looks great as is!

  11. I think the sleeve looks nice as is! But if it’s bugging you a lot, then definitely change it since you are the one who is going to be wearing it 🙂
