Brunch – A New Cowl Pattern

Brunch01

I was working on the pattern for Katie’s cowl from our cowl swap at the same time I was working on it, and I’m happy to be able to make the pattern available so soon after showing you the finished cowl. The pattern is called Brunch (because the stitch pattern reminds me a little bit of diner tablecloths), and it comes in two sizes. You can knit a deep cowl like the one shown, or you can knit a longer, narrower version that can be looped around your neck twice.

As I mentioned in my previous post about this cowl, there’s no stranded colorwork involved in knitting it. The stitch pattern combines lace, stripes, and slipped stitches to create a really unique look. The recommended yarn in Blue Sky Alpaca Worsted Cotton, a 100% cotton yarn, and it’s knit at a loose gauge on US 10.5/6.5 mm needles. The end result is an accessory that’s perfect for transitional weather. It’s just cozy enough to keep the chill off the back of your neck on a breezy spring morning.

You can buy Brunch for $5 on Ravelry, or you can find it in the Untangling Knots pattern shop.

A very cute pattern and another one of your patterns to add to my list. I am currently about two-thirds of the way through knitting Hetty in Blue Sky Alpaca Worsted Cotton as a birthday present for my sister. Just got a week to get it finished. Maybe I was looking in the wrong places but here in the UK I struggled to find a good worsted weight cotton but so far I really like the Blue Sky Alpaca yarn and as long as it washes well would most definitely use it again.

  2. Thank you for releasing this pattern!
