Announcing the Marion KAL

Marion_KAL

Beating out its closest competitor by just one vote, Marion has won as the pattern for the fall Untangling Knots KAL! The official cast-on date will be September 10th, and you will have until October 25th to finish your sweater and share it in the Marion KAL FO thread in the Untangling Knots group on Ravelry. Like the Hetty KAL, that will give you a month and a half to finish your sweater, and you’ve got a few weeks to pick out your yarn and grab the pattern. Marion will be on sale for 20% off until September 10th when you use the coupon code MARIONKAL14 at checkout on Ravelry.

  1. Aw, I JUST knit this sweater. lol. It’s the sweater that won me over to your designs too, so I was looking forward to joining this KAL. Don’t need two of them though (soooo many other designs out there), so I’ll just enjoy watching all the new ones pop up! Good luck!

    Hi,
My bust measures 40″, do i have to knit size M or L?? i noticed te ‘1 to 3 inches negative ease is best’ sentence and now i don’t really know which size to knit…. It confused me a little….

    1. Check out the FAQ post on choosing a size! It explains ease and how to decide what size to knit.

        Ah thanks, will do…:-)

  3. Yes!!!! I was planning on starting this sweater anyways, so this is perfect timing! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Super excited about this KAL ;-). My first time joining a KAL and this looks like a really cute cardie that will be a great addition to my wardrobe!

Yessss! This will be my first [anything]-along (thanks to skill, timing, and desire finally aligning), and my first time working one of your designs, Andi! Already grabbed the pattern and now looking forward to some yarn shopping.

  6. Such a nice sweater! Since I just finished my Marion I won’t be participating in this KAL, but will watch from the sidelines ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. Yay! I’ve been saving up this pattern for ages. Plotting out yarn purchases… ๐Ÿ™‚

This is my first KAL, too! Am very excited. Hopefully, I won’t ruin your beautiful design, Andi!

I’ve never been completely sold on the cables in this pattern but I might join and just take them out. I already have the perfect yarn for it though.

    1. You could also swap them out for another stitch pattern that’s the same width. It’d be an easy customization.

Yeah. I quite like the tight cables. Something like the side cables on Chuck.

  10. This came about a month too late for me – I’m part way through a Marion right now! I don’t see myself finishing before September 10th though, so could it still count for the kal?

  11. Fantastic! I love this sweater and I’ve been wanting to participate in a KAL for ages ๐Ÿ™‚ Can’t wait!

  12. I’m joining you – have ordered my wool and just hope that I’ve done the correct conversion off yards to 100g balls! My first knit a long and really looking forward to it!

  13. Hi andy I’ve just bought Marion via your website .It was sent ok but then when I downloaded it it disappeared !! Can you resend it me. I bought it via my husbands PayPal Mark Harvey many thanks

    1. You should be able to download the pattern again from the original email. If you downloaded the pattern already, it’s likely that it didn’t disappear but is in a folder somewhere on your computer. Try running a search for “Marion01.pdf”.
