I’m wrapping up my current knitting projects this week, and that means it’s time to plan some new ones! I try to get my swatch and numbers sorted out before I finish my current project so I can avoid not having anything on my needles. It doesn’t always work out that way, but that’s why I have my backup granny square blanket to work on.

It’s still cold here, but I’ve got spring knits on my mind. This past weekend was Madrona, and I picked up this skein of Sincere Sheep Equity Fingering in Aegean. Apparently I haven’t completely satisfied my mint green craving! This skein is going to turn into a pair of delightfully impractical,  light, lacy gloves. The big skein of orange yarn is Miss Babs Yowza, and it’s going to become a cropped cardigan with short sleeves and some simple eyelets. I just need to decide if I want to do a keyhole on the back or an interesting waist detail. The keyhole is kind of winning because I haven’t done that before, but I need to take a look at my wardrobe and make sure that a keyhole won’t limit my styling options too much. It looks like I’ve got some decisions to make.

  • Lace gloves are so pretty and ladylike. I can’t wait to see the finished product. The keyhole back to the cardigan sounds like a really pretty and fun detail.

  • Oooo, I love both of these colours. I don’t think a keyhole would be too limiting, as either a bare back or a nice shirt underneath would look good. Now I’m imagining short puff sleeves with a tiny keyhole at the end…maybe an i-cord finish…
Can’t wait to see your finished items!
