Minty Sweet

It’s all done and I love it! I actually finished knitting the sleeves last week. They were quick and painless, but blocking, however, took forever. We had some crazy storms, and this sweater just didn’t want to dry. But it was worth the wait because I think it’s just adorable!

The back is identical to the front. I like how the lace shows a bit of skin without being too much for everyday wear. I had a bit of a struggle getting the first lace stitch pattern to work for me, but this alternate lace pattern worked like a charm to create the look I was going for.

I went with 3/4 length sleeves so I could be sure that I’d get both sleeves knit from one skein of yarn. I didn’t want to fuss with alternating skeins. I was using Sincere Sheep Shepherdess, and I used two skeins alternated for the body and one for the sleeves. I adore this mint green color. I spent a lot of last winter searching for it and finally found this yarn in February, and I’m glad I didn’t give up on my search.

  11. Love how this sweater turned out. I just cast on Marion and have Chuck up next in my queue but would definitely like to add Minty Sweet. When do you think this pattern will be available?

    1. Ideally it will be available in late November, but my self published patterns always get put on hold when stuff with deadlines comes up so it’s hard to say.

  22. I’m glad you persevered through some of the shaping difficulties you had with the lace. You’ve created a beautiful sweater. It’s hard to get the right mixture of lace in a sweater and you’ve done it.
