A Sweater Body

Last night I finished the body of my mint green pullover. I thought I was going to have the body finished last weekend, but I ended up knitting from the armholes down three times! The first time I didn’t like the way I distributed the decreases. The second time the yarn pooled up strangely and I ended up having to cut out a bit from one of my skeins. The third time it finally worked out right!

You can see what I was aiming for here with the triangle of lace. The back is identical, and the sweater has a slash neck. The sleeves should work up quickly because they will be 3/4 length, but I have some deadline knitting to get done before I can tackle those. This sweater has had quite a bit of frogging involved in creating the body, but it should be smooth sailing from here!

Totally cool and very very different. Love the lace panel and how if fits.

And you hair is adorable, very retro like this sweater.

  3. Girl, you got the great sweater bod. I know that sounds kinda of weird but it is what most of us want! My daughter Dana would love the sweater just the way it is or with short or elbow sleeves. It’s always a joy to knit for someone who will look great in the sweater you make. I know all that frogging must have driven ya nuts but I’d say it a
was well worth the perfect fit! Happy Monday! Kirsten

And the sweater is looking great too ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Great sweater. I can’t wait to see the finished garment. Will the sleeves be simple or mimic the lace pattern on the body? Great hair cut, too!

    1. I think the sleeves will just be stockinette. I don’t want them to compete with the neckline.

  10. Lovely neckline and brilliant idea to position the lace in an inverted triangle at the neck!

Love how the lace draws the eye down like a v neck without the wardrobe malfunction issues. I like the idea of slash necks, but with a large chest the reality is very frumpy, this is a great idea to get around that.
Your hair looks really pretty, (it was lovely longer too) .

  13. Looks great so far!
